e-News® | The NEWS Company…NARAYANGANJ : -Five more members of RAB-11 have been arrested and put on eight-day remand in connection with the killing of seven men after their abduction in Narayanganj.
Senior Judicial Magistrate of Narayanganj Chadni Rupom passed the order upon a prayer for 10 days of remand by officer-in-charge of detective branch of Narayanganj and also investigation officer of the case Mamunur Rashid Mandol.
The five RAB-11 personnel–Havilder Imdadul Huq, sepoy Arif Hossain, lance nayak Hira Mia, lance nayak Billal Hossain and Sepoy Abu Tayeb–were placed before court. With them, eight RAB members have so far been arrested in this connection.
In their submission before the court they claimed themselves innocent saying that they had been forced to be engaged in the killing mission. Earlier on April 27 last, Narayanganj City Corporation (NCC) councilor Nazrul Islam and six others were kidnapped from Link Road of Dhaka- Narayanganj Highway and subsequently murdered. Their bodies were recovered from the river Shitalakhya on April 30.
Two separate cases were lodged in this connection.
