e-News® | The NEWS Company…DHAKA, Feb 2, 2015 : Customs intelligence officials seized gold, weighing 46 kgs and worth about Taka 23 crore from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport this morning. Acting on a tip-off, the intelligence officials seized the gold at around 9 am, Director General of Airport Customs Intelligence and Investigation Directorate Moinul Khan told e-News®.
Assistant Director of the Directorate Umme Nahida Akhtar said the gold was recovered from behind a toilet mirror of a Biman Bangladesh Airlines flight (BG-048) that flew in from Dubai and landed at the Airport at 8.30 am. The drive of custom intelligence is underway at the airport on suspicion of more smuggled gold. No one is yet to arrest in connection of the gold seizure till filing the report, Custom Intelligence sources said.
