e-News® | The NEWS Company… : JESSORE, Nov 27, 2014 – A local Awami League leader and a businessman was shot dead by some miscreants at Sheikhati-Jamrultala area under sadar upazila of the district on Wednesday night. The victim was identified as Mahfuzur Rahman Khokon, 42, office secretary of ward no-1 of Sultanpur AL and son of Moslemuddin of Sultanpur village of the upazila.
Police and local said, he was shot dead by some miscreants at about 8:30pm while he was going to Sultanpur village. Khokon received bullet injuries in backside of his body seriously. Local people rescued him and admitted to Jessore Medical College Hospital where the doctor declared him dead.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Jessore Kotwali Thana Enamul Haque confirmed the incident. The previous enmity may be the cause of the incident, he added. The body was sent to hospital morgue for autopsy. No case was recorded till filling this report.
