Bangladesh Women’s Football team’s captain Suinu Pru Marma is determined to go all out with her team for a good showing in the ensuing AFC Women’s Asia Cup Qualifiers, reports UNB.
“We’re going to take part in the AFC Women’s Asia Cup Qualifiers for the first time. There are distinctive differences between our team and other opponents considering their position in the world ranking. But I’m confident with my team and I expressed the hope we’ll give something good to our country”, she said.
Suinu came up with this expectation while she was addressing a press conference at the BFF House Sunday on the occasion of announcing of Bangladesh Eves Team for AFC Women’s Asia Cup.
BFF General Secretary Abu Nayeem Shohag, Deputy Chairman of BFF Women’ s wing Mahfuja Akter Kiron, coach Syed Golam Jilani also spoke on the occasion.
Team’s head coach Syed Golam Jilani also expressed optimistic about his team.
“I prepared my team with one and a half months practices. Girls are doing well, they’ve made an outstanding performance in the international practice matches in Kolkata earlier this month. I expressed the hope they will display their skill and performances in the matches”, Jilani said.
The four-team Group B matches of the AFC Women’s Asia Cup Qualifiers with the participation of Thailand, Iran, the Philippines and hosts Bangladesh will begin at the Bangabandhu National Stadium in Dhaka on May 21.
Hosts Bangladesh will play their first match against Thailand on May 21. They will meet Iran in the 2nd match on May 23 and play the 3rd and last group match against Philippines on May 25, all at 7:00 pm under floodlights.
