DHAKA, Sep 24, 2013 – Education Secretary Dr Kamal Abdul Naser Chowdhury today said the future of Bangladesh depends on technical education.
“Bangladesh will lag behind in global competition, if skilled manpower could not be developed and proper employment not created for them,” he said addressing as the chief guest at the inaugural ceremony of a conference of public and private polytechnic institute principals at the Institute of Diploma Engineers Bangladesh (IDEB) in the city.
The education secretary said the principals of polytechnic institutes would have to play a particular role to take the country to its targeted goal.
Presided over by IDEB President AKMA Hamid the function was addressed by Director General of Department of Technical Education M Shajahan Mian and Chairman of Bangladesh Technical Education Board Prof M Abul Quashem as special guests. IDEB General Secretary M Shamsur Rahman delivered the keynote speech, said an IDEB press release.
Dr Kamal Abdul Naser said the present government has given emphasis on the development of overall education.
Multimedia classrooms are being introduced in all educational institutions in phases, he added.
This technology-based activity requires skilled manpower and the polytechnic institutes have a special role to meet the demand for required manpower, he said.
