The buildings are connected through underground tunnels and the roof of houses on lower tiers is used as courtyards of houses above them, making the village totally free from vehicles. Also, the buildings are made in response to the extreme climate of the valley with its orientation being in respect to the sun so as to receive maximum sunlight in the cold and snowy winters.
