e-News® | The NEWS Company…DHAKA, Oct 26, 2014 – Local IT professionals and students today sat on International Standardized Information Technology Engineers Examination (ITEE) here to get a global recognition of their IT skills.
Bangladesh took the first ever official ITEE after getting membership from Information Technology Professional Examination Council (ITPEC) on September last, said a press release today. ITEE was taken place simultaneously with other ITPEC member countries — Malaysia, Mongolia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Thailand and Vietnam.
The examination was held at Dhaka University (DU), Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET), Chittagong University of Engineering and Technology (CUET), Rajshahi University and Khulna University of Engineering and Technology (KUET) simultaneously.
In Japan, ITEE is basically a national standardized examination for IT professionals where five to six lakh IT students and IT professionals attended every year. Bangladesh IT-engineers Examination Center (BD-ITEC) under Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology Ministry introduced the examination in the country under a project titled Capacity Building on ITEE Management with the help of Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA).
Education Secretary N I Khan, Project Director of Capacity Building on ITEE Management Project Dr S k Amzad Hossain and Chief Advisor of JICA-ITEE Project Hideo Hoya observed and monitored the examination. Besides, a Japanese delegation from an e-learning company named KJS also observed the examination as they are planning to set up an e-learning business in Bangladesh. One of the objectives of introducing ITEE in the country is to give international branding to Bangladesh IT professionals. The certificate of ITEE examination will help the local Bangladeshi IT professionals to get international jobs around the globe.
Earlier, the BD-ITEC conducted two trial ITEE on October last year and April this year that were prerequisite of getting IPTEC membership. Bangladeshi IT professionals and students have already showed its high IT talent by placing second among seven Asian countries in its maiden trial ITEE examination on October last year. ITEE test is recognized in 13 Asian countries including the second largest IT job market Japan and also honored in the markets of European and American countries.
