Mitsubishi Heavy Industries (MHI) has received an order for an M701F gas turbine and generator for a combined-cycle gas turbine (CCGT) power generation plant in Bangladesh.
Electricity Generation Company of Bangladesh Ltd. (EGCB), a state-owned power generation company will build the plant in Haripur near Dhaka, the capital of Bangladesh. Shipment of the gas turbine and generator to Hyundai Engineering & Construction Co., Ltd. (HDEC), which is the EPC contractor for the 410 MW New Haripur CCGT, is scheduled in April 2012. The plant will be the largest CCGT plant owned by governmental power sector in Bangladesh.
Construction of the plant is financially supported by a loan from the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA).
MHI will manufacture and supply the gas turbine, and will also send technical advisors for installation work, commissioning and performance test. The generator will be manufactured by Mitsubishi Electric Corporation.
