e-News® | The NEWS Company…DHAKA, Feb 16, 2015 : Spokesman of the 14-party alliance, Awami League presidium member and Health and Family Welfare Minister Mohammad Nasim today said nobody will put barriers if BNP wants to hold rallies and processions peacefully begging pardon to the people for unleashing terrorism.
The minister said this while speaking as the chief guest at a protest rally at Azampur and at Uttara in the city. The central Awami League-led 14-party alliance organised the anti-terrorism rally protesting BNP-Jamaat hartal-siege programmes and killing of people by hurling firebombs (petrol bombs) in the name of movement.
Awami League presidium member Advocate Sahara Khatun, MP, presided over the rally, also addressed, among others, by Workers Party president Rashed Khan Menon, Dhaka City Awami League (AL) acting president MA Aziz, general secretary Mofazzal Hossain Chowdhury Maya (Bir Bikram), Samyabadi Dal general secretary Dilip Barua and 14-party leaders SK Shikdar and Shahdat Hossain. Pointing at BNP chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia, the 14-party spokesman said, “If you want holding of election then polls will be held in the year 2019 under Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in accordance with the constitution. But, question does not arise on holding dialogue with you. No dialogue will be held with the killer.”
“Begum Khaleda Zia has now turned out to be a leader of militants and a leader of killers. Now BNP has been indulging in repressing people although their leaders have not taken to the streets. In the name of hartal, they have been torching vehicles and people.”
Rashed Khan Menon said, “The word ‘dialogue’ has now turned out to be bad coinage. The main goal of those who advocated for dialogue during 1/11 political change over was to subtract (minus) two top leaders. Such proposal means nothing but a conspiracy to go to power through backdoor. Whatever might be the conspiracy, people would not allow anybody to go to power through backdoor.” Mofazzal Hossain Chowdhury Maya said, “Mass beating to the terrorists has already been started. There will be no place for any terrorist in the sacred soil of Bangladesh.”
