e-News® | The NEWS Company…DHAKA, July 20, 2015 : All the government, semi-government and private offices, including banks and financial institutions, reopened today with very low attendance of officers, staff and employees after the three-day vacation of Eid-ul-Fitr, the greatest religious festival of Muslims. Witnesses said many office-goers who left the capital to enjoy their Eid vacation with their dear and near ones have already started returning to Dhaka as the three-day vacation ended yesterday.
The country celebrated Eid on Saturday amid festivity after a month-long dawn-to-dusk fasting in the holy Ramadan. Bangladesh Secretariat sources said the office reopened as usual but the presence was very thin as many took leave with the Eid holiday. Besides, same pictures were available at almost other offices and financial institutions. Festive mood is prevailing at most of the offices. Officials and staff were seen exchanging Eid greetings with their colleagues embracing each other. The holiday-seekers, who went to their villages to celebrate the Eid with their relatives, have slowly started to return to their working places though a rush was seen in the Dhaka-bound inter-districts transports, trains and launch terminals since last evening. Capital still remains free from the usual chaotic and traffic tailback.
