#thenewscompany -Mentioning that the sense of unity, secularism and communal harmony is the tradition of the people of Bangladesh, President Abdul Hamid today urged all to play their due role in national development from their respective positions maintaining communal harmony.
“Puja and other festivals are derived from the depth of the tradition and culture of the Bengal. So, no festival is limited to the circle of religion,” he said while talking to media people during a reception at Bangabhaban.
The President hosted the reception for the members of Hindu community on the occasion of Durga Puja. Abdul Hamid and his wife Rashida Khanom also exchanged greetings with the guests. President Hamid said religions belong to communities but festivals to all. “The main message of all religions is human welfare,” he added.
Hindu religious personalities and leaders of various puja committees joined the reception. Religious Affairs Minister Principal Matior Rahman and Indian High Commissioner Harsh Vardhan Shringla were also present.
