e-News® | The NEWS Company… :DHAKA, Nov 27, 2014 – Detective Branch (DB) of police in seperate raids on Wednesday detained 31 members of an organised gang of agyan (dope) party from different areas of the capital city. They also seized a huge quantity of stimulating medicine, different kinds of food items used in making people unconscious and Taka 50,000 in cash from their possession.
The arrestees are: Mizanur Rahman Pintu, 42, Jalil Bepari, 55, Rashid,42, Babu,32, Kamruzzaman, 25, Zahid,22, Niamul Haque, 21, Khokon Mia,23, Moslem Mollah, 35, Alam,22, Mizanur, 42, Shariful,48, Sanwar,35, Rezaul,40, Osman gani, 25, Lal Mia, 45, Gias Uddin, 25, Mamun,40, Shaheed Ahmed, 26, Ferdous, 25, Abu Taher, 28, Moksed Molla, 40, Suman, 23, Babu,18, Abdul Kader, 40, Suman, 25, Mawla Sarder, 28, Md Oli,18, Aminul Islam,25, Jony,19 and Shaon Ahmed,18.
Separate teams of DB headed by police executive magistrates Abdul Kuddus and Sarwar Alam of the mobile court of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) arrested them from different parts of the city, said a DB official. A case was lodged against Pintu under Special Powers Act while the mobile courts sentenced different jail terms ranging from four months to two years to the remaining others.
DB arrested Mizanur Rahman Pintu, owner of Gauchhia Pharmacy at Fakirapool along with 725 pieces of ATVN tablets, 10 mailam tablets, six dormicam tablets, used in making people unconscious. Pintu during preliminary interrogation confessed that some gangs used to purchase stimulating tablets from him.
Following information extracted from him, DB police arrested six member of Shariful gang from Fakirapool, five members of Zahid gang from Gulistan, four members of Jalil Bepari gang from Kamalapur, five members of Mawla gang from Mohakhali bus stand, six members of Suman gang from airport intersection and four members of Mamun gang from Kalshia in Mirpur.
They seized 225 pieces of ATVN tablet and different food items used in making people unconscious and Taka 5000 cash from their possession. During preliminary interrogation, the criminals confessed their link to doping and robbing people at different points of the capital.
