e-News® | The NEWS Company…BANGKOK, Aug 2, 2015 : Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader today said the month of August is a tragic chapter in the history of Bangladesh. “We have lost the supreme leader of our War of Liberation, architect of our independence and the greatest Bengali of the past thousand years Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman in the black night of August 15 in 1975,” he said.
The Minister came up with the observations while exchanging views with Bangladeshi citizens living in Thailand at a hotel in Bangkok here this evening. Quader urged all to get united and dedicate themselves in turning Bangladesh into a middle-income country by upholding the ideology of Bangabandhu. He also called upon the expatriates to make investment in Bangladesh, utilizing the benefits provided by the government. Bangladeshi High Commissioner in Thailand Sayeeda Mona Tasnim and vice-president of Thailand Awami League Mostafizur Rahman were present on the occasion, among others.
