e-News® | The NEWS Company…DHAKA, April 7, 2015 : Candidates of Dhaka North, Dhaka South and Chittagong city corporation polls started formal electioneering today with huge enthusiasm. Defying the scorching sun, the mayor and councilor candidates of three city corporations and their supporters carried out election campaigns in different areas of their respective constituencies to woo the voters since the early morning.
Dhaka South mayoral candidate and Awami League Dhaka city Joint General Secretary Sayeed Khokan told BSS that he started campaign from ‘Hanif Flyover’ at Jatrabari. He was accompanied by city AL acting president MA Aziz and Habibur Rahman Molla, MP.
An election office of Sayeed Khokan was inaugurated at 25 Bangabandhu Avenue in the capital. Dhaka North City Corporation mayoral candidate and Federation of Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI) former President Anisul Haq started electioneering from Karwan Bazar FDC gate. Another candidate of Dhaka North, Abdullah Al Qafi started campaign by placing wreaths at Rayerbazar killing field at 11 am. Dhaka South mayoral candidate Dr. Rezaul Karim Chowdhury and Dhaka North mayoral candidate Mahi B. Chowdhury will start poll campaigns by holding separate press conferences.
Chittagong City Corporation mayoral candidate Maulana MA Matin held at an exchange of opinion meeting at Muslim Institute in the port city in the afternoon. Councilor candidates have also started electioneering in three city corporations from today. Elections to Dhaka North, Dhaka South and Chittagong city corporations will be held on April 28, 2015. As per the election code of conduct, the candidates will get 21 days for election campaigns.
