Bangladesh CNG Filling Station and Conversion Owners Association has strongly protested the government’s decision to keep the refilling stations closed for 6 hours every day instead of earlier 4 hours and threatened to wage a tough movement if gas rationing is not stopped by May 23.
The organization at a meeting on March 22 issued the threat criticising the government’s decision as an autocratic one. The decision to keep the CNG refilling stations from 3 pm to 9 pm was taken by the Power and Energy Ministry without any discussion with the stakeholders in the CNG sector, said the 3-point resolution of the meeting.
According to the resolution, they would not accept the extension of the two month’s time of gas rationing at CNG stations after May 23, the government has to increase the commission for the pump owners and address the exiting problems regarding bank deposits, also by May 23.
