AC Milan coach Massimiliano Allegri firmly believes that Zlatan Ibrahimovic is hungry to win titles with the Rossoneri outfit. The Sweden striker claimed last week he was getting old and that he would want to retire from football when he is still at the top of his game.
Allegri, though, is reading little into those remarks. “Sometimes words can be misinterpreted,” Allegri told Gazzetta dello Sport. “I don’t believe that Ibrahimovic is tired because the season has only just started. He and everyone else at Milan want to return to get results like last season. I am convinced that Zlatan wants to remain at Milan and return to win with this club.”
The 30-year-old is under contract with Milan until June 2015. Ibrahimovic was instrumental last season in leading Milan to their first Scudetto since 2004, scoring 14 goals and providing 11 assists. Injuries have limited Ibrahimovic to just two league appearances this term, including a 2-0 defeat at Juventus last time out.
