In their second game of the ICC CWC 2011, Bangladesh manage a win and accomplish their first target in the league stages. They will now aim for a few wins more to boost their chances of qualifying for the knockout stages. The batsmen couldn’t put the required amount of runs on the board but the bowler earned this victory for their side. All of them fared well but Shafiul Islam bowled his heart out to produce the best bowling figures for a Bangladeshi in WCs. Ireland had their moments in the game but they surely crumbled under pressure and handed the win to the home side. Though, one has to feel for them as the entire Mirpur crowd was praying for their blood. It becomes quite difficult to perform in front of such huge crowd.
OUT! Bangladesh win by 27 runs!!! Shafiul Islam ends the proceedings and its the best bowling figures in WCs for a Bangladesh bowler. The crowd have gone wild and the players are jubilant in the middle. A delivery on the pads, Rankin chips it uppishly towards mid-wicket and the fielder there dives forward to take the catch. The celebrations have began in the stands. The players shake hands and leave the field!
