The official Olympics video game is going on sale allowing armchair fans to join in the action from their living rooms.
Sega’s officially-licensed London 2012 game allows players to compete for gold in more than 30 events at venues which have been recreated to exact specifications.
New games in the 2012 version include keirin cycling at the Velodrome, 10 metre synchronised platform diving at the Aquatics Centre and trampoline at North Greenwich Arena.
The game also features a global leaderboard, which will track personal medals won by those playing online and add them to that nation’s medal table.
Sega Europe and America senior vice president of marketing Gary Knight said: “We are proud to offer the Great British public the chance to actually experience the excitement and pride of taking part in London 2012.
“With all new Olympic events and returning favourite sports brought to life with the very latest video gaming technology, everyone will be able to participate in the Olympic Games from their own home.”
The game is available for PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation3.
