e-News® | The NEWS Company…DHAKA, Oct 18, 2015 : Bangladesh Post Office today released a commemorative postage stamp, a first day cover and a data card on the occasion of the completion of 40 years of the diplomatic ties between Bangladesh and China. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina formally released the postage stamp and the first day cover of Taka 10 each and the data card valued at Taka 5 at her official Ganobhaban residence here this afternoon.
A special cancelor was used on the occasion. Foreign Minister AH Mahmood Ali, State Minister for Foreign Affairs Md Shahriar Alam, State Minister for Post and Telecommunication Division Tarana Halim, Acting Foreign Secretary Rear Admiral (retd) Md Khurshid Alam, PM’s Press Secretary Ihsanul Karim, Director General of Bangladesh Post Office ABM Humayun, Chinese Ambassador to Bangladesh Ma Mingqiang, and Director of Bangladesh Post Office Md Faujul Azim were present on the occasion, among others.
The postage stamp, first day cover and data card will be sold from the Philatelic Bureau of Dhaka GPO today, while those would be available at other GPOs and head post offices across the country later. There is an arrangement for a special cancelor at four GPOs for use in the first day cover.
