Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina returned home this afternoon concluding her weeklong official visit to the United Kingdom (UK) and east European Republic of Belarus.
A Biman Bangladesh Airlines flight carrying the Prime Minister and members of her entourage landed at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport (HSIA) at 2.10 pm.

Minister and General Secretary of Bangladesh Awami League Syed Ashraful Islam, minister for textiles and jute Abdul Latif Siddiqui, civil aviation and tourism minister Faruk Khan, railway minister Mujibul Haq, Home Minister Mohiuddin Khan Alamgir, PM’s advisor HT Iman, Chief Whip Abdus Shahid and state minister for liberation war affairs AB Tajul Islam, were present at the airport to receive the Prime Minister.
Cabinet Secretary, chiefs of three services, PMO Secretary Mollah Wahiduzzaman, dean of the diplomatic corps and senior government officials were also present.
Sheikh Hasina left the country on July 4 last on a weeklong visit to the UK and Belarus. On the first leg, she visited the United Kingdom from July 4 to 8.
From there, she went to Belarus for a three-day visit. But, making her visit short for one-day the Prime Minister came back home today. During her stay in London, the Prime Minister held meeting with British Foreign Minister William Hague. She also attended a post-marriage reception to her niece Rezwana Siddiqui Tulip.
She attended a breakfast meeting with the peers and parliament members of the UK apart from addressing the Bangladesh community in Europe.
During her two-day visit to Belarus, Sheikh Hasina held a bilateral official talks with her Belarusian counterpart Mikhail Myasinkovich. After the talks, Bangladesh and Belarus inked two agreements, four memorandums of understanding (MoU) for enhancing cooperation in different sectors.
Later, the two premiers signed a joint statement and attended a joint press briefing. Sheikh Hasina joined the state banquet hosted in her honour by the Belarusian Prime Minister and addressed a joint business council meeting organized by trade apex bodies of the both countries.
Sheikh Hasina visited historic Victory Square, a key landmark of Minsk in memory of the World War II heroes and placed floral wreath there. She also visited the Minsk Automobile Plant and National Library in Minsk. The Prime Minister left Minsk last night and returned home via Istanbul of Turkey.
