#thenewscompany- Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina returned home tonight after wrapping up her four-day official visit to Japan at the invitation of Japanese Premier Shinzo Abe. During the visit, Sheikh Hasina attended the Outreach Meeting of the G7 nations, a grouping of the world’s seven advanced economies, in the Japanese city of Nagoya on May 27.
A VVIP flight of Biman Bangladesh Airlines carrying the Prime Minister and her entourage members landed at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka at 11 pm. Earlier, the Prime Minister left Haneda International Airport in Tokyo at 7 pm (Japan time).
Bangladesh Ambassador to Japan Rabab Fatima saw the Premier off at the airport. Sheikh Hasina took part in two discussion sessions of the G7 Outreach Meeting and delivered her statement. She also joined photo session and luncheon programme with other world leaders.
On the sidelines of the Outreach Meeting, Sheikh Hasina held bilateral meetings with UK Prime Minister David Cameron, Japanese Prime Minister Shinjo Abe and Sri Lankan President Maithripala Sirisena. Sheikh Hasina had a breakfast meeting with leading Japanese businessmen and witnessed the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) between FBCCI and Jetro, apex trade bodies of the two countries.
She also inaugurated new chancery complex of Bangladesh in Tokyo and attended a civic reception accorded to her by the Bangladeshi community at Imperial Hotel in the Japanese capital. Sheikh Rehana, the younger daughter of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, and Foreign Minister AH Mahmood Ali, among others, accompanied the Prime Minister during her visit to Japan.
