e-News® | The NEWS Company…DHAKA, Aug 28, 2014 : A special team of the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB)-3 today recovered one of the missing newborn twin from Gazipur and arrested two who were involved in the newborn twin stealing from Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) on August 21, said an official release of the RAB today.
Being informed, the team of RAB-3 recovered one newborn from Sona Mia’s house at Kalmeshwar Battola of Board bazaar under Gazipur district after drive at 2.30am on Thursday. RAB team also arrested Mrs Rasheda Khanam allias Parvin, 48 and Mrs Bely Akhter allias Rahima, 45, who were involved in the newborn twin missing incident, the press release said.
Arrestee Rasheda Khanam allias Parvin, who was involved in the theft, usually sell new born(s) to others or demand ransom from the people in exchange of the baby. At one stage she handed over the baby to Bely Akhter,wife of Sona Mia of Gazipur.
After eight days of missing of the newborn twin , the RAB-3 was able to recover the baby. Runa Akhter, wife of a private organization’s employee Kawsar Hossain, gave birth the twin at DMCH at early hours on August 20.
