RANGAMATI: An activist of United People’s Democratic Front (UPDF) was killed during a gunfight with rival activists of Parbatya Chhatagram Jana Sanghati Samity (PCJSS) in Jurachhori upazila on Thursday midnight.
Police later recovered the body of Supal Chakma, 30, activist of UPDF.
Police said only one was killed in the 45-minute gun battle between UPDF and PCJSS at Luilongchhari, a dense forest area, while local people said the death toll was three.
Police said the activists of two CHT-based regional organizations were engaged in the gun battle over establishing their supremacy in the area.
